PictureCode LLC develops innovative software technology to enable new levels of image quality, utility, and productivity in the photographic workflow.

The company was founded in November 2003 by Dr. Jim Christian, a veteran computer scientist and avid amateur photographer. Located in Austin, Texas, PictureCode serves a worldwide market via the Internet and more than 450 authorized resellers. To date, the company has been funded by operating cash flow.

Dr. Jim Christian

Founder
Jim has held positions in computer science research, software development, product management, and marketing communications. He has managed technical, nontechnical, and cross-functional teams at early-stage and mid-size software companies. He also served as an associate professor at Japan's prestigious Kyoto University. Jim has published articles covering a range of technical and business topics, including the automation of mathematical logic, the integration of Internet and traditional sales channels, and the analysis of cash flows and optionality in portfolios of complex energy assets. He holds an undergraduate degree in computer science from Harvard, and both a Ph.D. in computer science and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.




Fernando Zapata

Senior Programmer
Fernando contributes all-around software development skills to the PictureCode engineering team, including architecture, programming, and maintenance. Prior to joining PictureCode, he worked as a programmer at a startup company in the energy sector and at a leading supply-chain software company. In his spare time, Fern likes to fly kites and participate in online WWII combat flight simulations. He earned an undergraduate degree in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin.




Dieutam (Dieu) Christian

Customer Support and Office Management
If you contact PictureCode for customer support, there's a good chance that Dieu will be the one replying to your email. She also keeps the office running, taking care of administration, order fulfillment, and other day-to-day matters. Dieu holds a computer science degree with a minor in economics from the University of Texas at Austin, and she earned a teaching certificate in the Ohara school of Japanese flower arrangement in Kyoto.
